What a fantastic day had by all at the Stray Cats Gala Day on Sunday. It was an amazing turn out with eight teams turning out in force. With the Bar-B on, the Hangi cranked up and the 7th Day beers flowing, teams took the field to battle it out on Terrey Hills Oval. The sun came out the tunes were playing and the banter did not stop until the final whistle was blown with the Engadine Limping Lions taking out the trophy for playing in the true spirit of the game - fun, friendship and fraternity, the Golden Oldies way!
A huge thanks to The Terrey Hills Stillbillies for allowing us to have our first Gala Day at their venue, StrayCats by name StrayCats by nature with no home venue…. “As yet!” A special thanks also goes out to all our volunteers including Darci, Logan and Ellis who did a fantastic job looking after the canteen, to Coco for all your photographic efforts, to Jake & Rob for manning the Bar and all the boys working the Hangi and BBQ - we salute you!
The name of our mascot was also announced, with Tommy taking out the prize of a case of Craft StrayCats Pilsner. Our fellow mascot is now called FERAL or as he's know on the Northern Beaches, "Pharrell" lol
Thanks to all the teams that showed up to play and support our first Gala Day and for making it the day that it was - Terrey Hills Stillbillies, Narrabeen Tigers, Newport Nasties, Oatley Rugby, Engadine Limping Lions, Oakhill and the Bathurst Bulldogs Old Boys, we hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!
